Our second adoption journey actually began near the end of 2013. I saw the sad face of a little boy on a site that advocates for orphans. He had complex medical issues. The site was looking for a family for him because he was declining physically, emotionally and socially. I prayed and then talked to Aron when he got home from work. When Aron saw his picture we decided to call our agency and inquire. The long story short is that we started the application process and working with our agency. The good news for that little sweetheart is that another family was touched by him and they were paper ready. Soon after we started the paperwork, the other family was matched with him. We were so happy for him. He needed his family. The one meant for him. We were not that family. So, now we had to make the decision, do we continue with the adoption process or halt our progress and back out. You guessed it, we continued on.
In June 2015, God orchestrated the match of sweet Jade with our family. I don't think it's a coincidence that she has similar needs to the little boy we asked about over a year ago. We felt like knowing just a bit about this little boy led to us finding our Jade. It has been a long road. There are days that I get near panic attacks thinking about her alone. I want to "go ninja" and fly to get her this very minute. My maternal instincts are a bit on overdrive these days. But, I have to pray and rest in the fact that God has started us on this journey, that Jade is safe in the palm of His hand.
In the next 3 months we will travel to China, graduate our senior and host a wedding reception for our son recently married in Montana. So, although I'm a bit cookoo right now, I'm incredibly blessed. God has given me these beautiful people to love. I'm one happy ninja mama!
